My artistic practice is rooted in an anthropological investigation, focusing on an exploration of time and space in relation to human connection while attempting to unpack some of the following concerns: How have our ancestors affected us? What lasting traditions have been passed down? What emotional, mental, and psychological effects are present when communicating instantaneously with someone halfway around the world from oneself? How do their culture and history collide with another’s? Before 2019, much of my work was based on an examination of transient spatiality in relation to framing, lighting, and positionality in the everyday. Through this work, my hope is to generate a discourse around our existence and reveal the systems we live in that bind us together, but also separate us.
